Avenged Sevenfold‘s 2010 album Nightmare and Hail To The King, released in 2013, were officially certified platinum by the RIAA for sales in excess of one million copies.

Avenged Sevenfold recorded the album Nightmare with ex-Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy following the death of James “The Rev” Sullivan in December 2009.

Mike Portnoy toured for several months before being replaced by Arin Ilejay in 2011. Ilejay recorded Hail To The King and was part of the band until 2014 and was replaced by Brooks Wackerman.

Furthermore, Avenged Sevenfold‘s Waking The Fallen album, was certified platinum by the RIIA on March 2021. On the same day, the single Unholy Confessions was certified gold for accumulating 500,000 certified units.
