It seems that Avenged Sevenfold‘s new album, after a long, long time, is finally on its way.

The band had planned to release the new album this year; in fact, a tour had even been announced, then canceled just to focus on finishing the new album.

According to drummer Brooks Wackerman, however, the release date has been pushed back to 2023. Wackerman posted a photo of his drum kit used to record the new album and wrote on Instagram: “Ladies and gentlemen – The A7X studio kit brought to you by all streaming services and tiny devices next year”

In February Brooks had said that the new album was “90 percent finished” and that the band had started writing it four years ago. A few months later he had shared a photo in the studio with a 78-piece orchestra.

In short, it is not long before the new album is released, but it looks like we will have to be patient for a few more months.
